College Basketball Decision Day: Consensus Top 10 Prospect Isiah Harwell Deciding Between 4 Schools While 4-Star Zac Foster Is Down To 2 ACC Programs

September 12, 2024 by Last Word On College Basketball

Tomorrow, September 12, a couple of top-100 2025 prospects will make their college decisions. Consensus top-10 prospect Isiah Harwell is down to four schools, while top-100 recruit Zac Foster is choosing between a pair of ACC programs.

College Basketball Decision Day: Consensus Top 10 Prospect Isiah Harwell Deciding Between 4 Schools While 4-Star Zac Foster Is Down To 2 ACC Programs

Harwell announced yesterday, via On3, that he will choose between California, Gonzaga, Houston, and Texas live on the On3 Recruits YouTube Channel on Thursday, September 12th at 3:05 ET.

Harwell is a consensus five-star recruit and the No. 9 overall prospect in 2025 with a 98.67 rating. The Idaho native, a 6-5 wing, is ranked between eighth and 14th by all four scouting services.

Harwell, who has a NIL deal with Klutch Athletics by New Balance, is one of the best scorers in the class. But his greatest asset is his ability to play on both ends of the floor.

“Isiah Harwell is a complete shooting guard prospect, “Jaime Shaw of On3 said. “At 6-foot-5, he has good length and a strong lower body. Harwell plays at a great pace; he does not play rushed and makes great decisions with the ball in his hands. Harwell has a good burst when attacking the basket and getting on the rim in the half-court. Solid handle, frame, skill, and IQ, there is a lot to like about the five-star. The shooting guard has deep range and confidence to score it when given space.”

Harwell has officially visited all four finalists, with Houston (Aug. 23) and Texas (Aug. 30) being his latest. Houston was among the earliest to offer Harwell, doing so in July 2022, and UH is the only place he has visited twice.

The following is what Harwell told On3 about his official visit to Houston. The Cougars are considered the favorite for him with Gonzaga being considered the second choice.

“The coaches and the players stand out to me. All the players who went through there, they’ve had guards who were first-round picks. And it’s a great camaraderie there.

Zac Foster

Zac Foster will announce his college choice at 4 p.m. ET on 247Sports Youtine channel. The 6-2 guard,  the younger brother of Xavier’s Marcus Foster, is choosing between Virginia Tech and Clemson.

A consensus three-star recruit, Foster holds at least a dozen scholarship offers. He is also the consensus No. 125 recruit in the class, though 247Sports and Rivals rate him as a four-star prospect and in the top 100 of their ratings. Meanwhile, On3 has Atlanta (Ga.) No. 122 on their list, and he is not rated by ESPN.

Foster had been on the rise since the start of AAU season. The 6-4 guard is a skilled shooter and passer with length.

“He’s a long and wiry guard with upside as he continues to fill out his frame, said Travis Branham of 247Sports. “Offensively, he’s a versatile playmaker and scorer who can make shots from deep, create off the dribble, and make plays for those around him.”

Foster has visited Clemson (June 4) and Virginia Tech (Aug. 30).  It seems like the Hokies and Tigers are a toss-up, but I’m leaning toward Clemson.

” It’s hard to pick just one,” Foster said when talking about his official visits. “They were both great schools.”

The following are more thoughts about his official visits.

Clemson Tigers

“Coach [Brad] Brownell led the whole visit,” he said of his time at Clemson last weekend. “He laid out exactly what he wanted from me and exactly what my plan would look like when I get on campus. The trainer and nutritionist had a plan for me as soon as I walked in.”

Virginia Tech Hokies

“They had a great atmosphere. Their campus was nice. I like the team and the teammates.
