Class of 2027 four-star guard Dooney Johnson has committed to Gonzaga, ON3’s Joe Tipton announced on Wednesday. Johnson – a 6-foot-6 guard from Milwaukee, chose the Bulldogs over schools like Wisconsin, Marquette and Indiana.
Johnson’s decision comes just two days after visiting Gonzaga and is one of the Bulldogs’ highest-ranked recruits of all time.
He has had a lengthy relationship with Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs, who was also a star at Gonzaga, who was coached by Johnson’s father when he was in middle school.
It is still unclear about Johnson’s intentions to reclassify or remain in the class of 2027. He is Gonzaga’s first commit in the class of 2027.
Johnson is a four-star recruit and ranked as the No. 41 overall prospect in the class of 2027, according to 247Sports.
