What a joke.
This happened just last season, feels like Déjà vu. The NBA can’t keep getting away with snubbing Domantas Sabonis from the All-Star Game. It’s a travesty.
The Gonzaga product and leader of the Sacramento Kings is averaging 20.9 points per game on 61.0 FG%/48.1 3PT%/77.1 FT%, 14.5 rebounds per game, and 6.6 assists per game. Sabonis leads the league in rebounding and double-doubles with 42. He’s also 2nd in three-point percentage and 3rd in triple-doubles with 7.
His strong play as of late has the Kings at a 24-23 overall record, winning 11 of their last 15 games. Putting him over the likes of Memphis’ Jaren Jackson Jr. and Houston’s Alperen Sengun is crazy. Make it make sense.

Take a look at just some of his more impressive statlines that he’s put together this season:
October 26, 2024 at Los Angeles Lakers – 29 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists
November 6, 2024 vs. Toronto Raptors – 17 points, 13 assists, 11 rebounds, 0 turnovers
December 12, 2024 at New Orleans Pelicans – 32 points, 20 rebounds
January 10, 2025 at Boston Celtics – 23 points, 28 rebounds (career-high)
Yes, Sacramento isn’t the best market in the league but that shouldn’t matter. The fan voting process needs to be abolished as well as the NBA head coaches selecting the reserves if this is the outcome. The whole point of the All-Star Game is to have the best players out on the court all at once. Something has to be changed immediately by commissioner Adam Silver.
