Honoring Gonzaga Basketball’s Seniors

Is Graham Ike coming back for one more year?

Tomorrow is a special day for both the men’s and women’s program as all the seniors plus grad students will be honored for their last game at the Kennel.

On the men’s side, it looks as if Michael Ajayi, Nolan Hickman, Khalif Battle, Ben Gregg, and Joe Few will be celebrated inside the McCarthey Athletic Center. A couple of notes:

Joe Few is listed as a redshirt junior so he should have one more year of eligibility. It seems like he’s ready to join a coaching staff, whether that’s in Spokane or somewhere else is to be determined. Currently, AJ Few is a video coordinator for Gonzaga.

Will Graham Ike really return to Gonzaga for one more run? He’s a senior but does have one year of eligibility remaining. He only played 12 games during his freshman season at Wyoming in 2021-22 and sat out all of the 2022-23 season due to injuries. This is all speculation but peculiar that he was left off the graphic.

As for Michael Ajayi, he’s a junior college product from Pierce College in Puyallup from 2021-23. The NCAA Division I Board of Directors recently granted an extra year of eligibility for student-athletes who competed at a junior college and would have lost eligibility after the 2024-2025 season. Ajayi did compete in the NBA Draft Combine this past summer and should be expected to participate again this offseason before any decision is made on his part.

On the women’s side, congratulations are in order for the great Yvonne Ejim as well as Esther Little, Maud Huijbens, and Tayla Dalton for all their contributions to the Gonzaga program over the years. More work is needed to be done as winning the West Coast Conference tournament in Las Vegas is their only ticket into the NCAA Tournament.
