In more positive news, the Gonzaga legend recently became a father.
A favorite of the Zags in the NBA recently had a “minimally invasive” surgery on his left heel in London, England. Kelly Olynyk missed the final three games with the New Orleans Pelicans due to left Achilles tendinosis. He is expected to be out for three to four months which means that the 6-11 big man should be ready for training camp in the fall.
The veteran started his 2024-25 campaign with his home country team, the Toronto Raptors, but was sent to the Crescent City before the NBA trade deadline in the Brandon Ingram deal. In his 12th NBA season, Olynyk averaged 8.7 points on 50.0 field goal percentage. 41.8 three-point percentage and 76.9 free throw percentage. He also chipped in 4.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists through 44 games played.
Olnyky has turned into an NBA journeyman having played for seven total teams throughout his career. He’s entering the final season of his contract in which he’s owed $13.4 million.
In more positive news for the Gonzaga legend, Olynyk recently announced that he will be having his first child with his wife, Jackie.
