This is the second scholarship player on the roster to leave the program.
Right at the buzzer. With the transfer portal closing tonight at midnight, Luka Krajnovic decided to look for a new home. He’s the second scholarship player to do so (Pavle Stosic being the first) and the third name overall (Colby Brooks was a walk-on). Krajnoivic appeared in only 16 games last season while averaging 2.9 PPG on 46.7 FG%/33.3 3PT% and 1.3 RPG in 8.3 MPG.
The 6’5” guard hailed from Croatia and didn’t seem much action in his lone season in Spokane. It’s not a huge loss of production for the Zags but the freshman had some bright spots after coming back from his broken left hand injury in the middle of conference play, showcasing his range and high basketball IQ. He’s better off elsewhere if he wants consistent minutes with Ryan Nembhard and Nolan Hickman getting the bulk of the time in the backcourt. Krajnovic will have a busy summer with figuring out his next step and participating at the Croatian National Team’s Olympic training camp.

Gonzaga is now down to 9 scholarships on the current roster with 4 available to be given out. The Zags will still be returning all their key rotation players except for Anton Watson whose college eligibility is up and adding Michael Ajayi from Pepperdine.
