Michael Penix Jr. has no hard feelings when it comes to head coach Kalen DeBoer bolting for Tuscaloosa.

During a recent interview on WNSP at the Reese’s Senior Bowl, the future NFL QB had nothing but great things to say about what DeBoer can accomplish with the Crimson Tide. Saying, “he is an amazing coach, man.”

He’s gonna push the guys extremely hard. He’s gonna make sure every player is 100% prepared come game day and man and especially on the offensive side of the ball, man, they’re gonna light it up. The offense that he installs, it’s amazing, it’s a lot of pushing the ball down the field but obviously being smart with it and the timing of the plays, it’s perfect.

Asked if he believes DeBoer can win a championship with the Tide within his first three years, Penix replied: “Yeah, I believe so, he can do it.”

Penix is regarded as a top-five QB prospect in a strong 2024 class thanks in large part to what he was able to accomplish with DeBoer as a Husky.

DeBoer has some of the biggest shoes you could ever be asked to fill succeeding Nick Saban at Alabama. But if Michael Penix Jr.’s word is anything, fans should have nothing to worry about.
