Monday Dots: Huskies Trounce, Will Fisch Bounce?

December 15, 2025 by UW Dawg Pound

Happy Monday Dawg fans, and welcome to today’s Dots.

The Huskies wrapped up Jedd Fisch’s 2nd season – and Demond Williams Jr.‘s first as a starter – with a convincing 38-10 win over the Boise State Broncos in the ‘Bucked Up LA Bowl Hosted by Gronk’ on Saturday. The Huskies pretty much looked like who they’ve been all season in victories, save for the defense corralling FIVE Bronco passes for INTs – hopefully showcasing a ball-hawking persona that extends into 2026.

The Huskies offense started slow yet again, but the gates opened in the 2nd quarter when a busted coverage allowed star WR Denzel Boston to turn an easy catch into a 78yd TD. Demond Williams threw for 3 more touchdowns on the way to a 215 yard throwing performance, and was credited with 12 carries for 16 yards on the ground (w/ 5 sacks). Freshmen Dezmen Roebuck and Raiden Vines-Bright each had nice TD catches, and senior Quentin Moore put the icing on the cake with a TD catch of his own.

Once again, the Dawgs’ defense held fast while the offense was finding its footing, and along with the five INTs off Boise State’s two quarterbacks, the Husky D held the Broncos to just 58 yards rushing and a meager 2.1yd average. Boise State’s longest run of the game was 10 yards. Broncos backup QB Max Cutforth played only the 2nd half and went 15/27 for 202 yards – pretty impressive – but his 3 INTs ruined the good work he’d done. If Fisch leaves — and I’d like him not to — I hope Ryan Walters stays put on Montlake.

Points of interest:
This year the Broncos and Huskies were similar in the chasm between their points scored in wins, versus points scored in losses.
Broncos– in wins: 42; in losses: 7
Huskies– in wins: 46; in losses: 9

UW and Boise State have played 7 times in the last 19 years. The Huskies are 5-2 all time vs the Broncos. 2-1 in bowl games (with a nail-biting loss in the 2012 Las Vegas bowl). And have more wins against Chris Petersen (2-1) then with Petersen as head coach (1-1). (Also, how the hell did Tyrone Willingham beat Chris Petersen in 2007!?!)

If you’re able, take time away from worrying whether Jedd Fisch leaves to follow Husky men’s soccer as they play for the NCAA National Championship today!!! The Huskies return to the national title game for the second time in five seasons.

5️⃣ INTs‼️

That’s the most @UW_Football has had in a game since 11/22/2003 vs. Washington State.

Jedd Fisch has been no stranger to seeking the next great opportunity. If Michigan comes calling, does @UW_Football have any hope of keeping him in Seattle? | via @jaredetucker https://t.co/TlJ4GBXoMV

Go Dawgs!!

I was never a big fan of The Clash, other than a few songs. And I don’t care for this one here, nor do I like the idea of Jedd Fisch leaving right now. So then..
