Recruiting Roundup: Huskies Host Several Official Visitors For Their Game Against Illinois

October 26, 2025 by UW Dawg Pound

Happy Sunday Husky fans. The Huskies got a big win yesterday over a solid Illinois team and in attendance were several official visitors the Huskies are trying to nab heading into the December early signing period. Here are a look at some of the official visitors as well as some big names in the 2027 class that made it up:

3 star linebacker Ramzak Fruean from Bethel HS, WA was on campus for an official visit this weekend. The Huskies have pushing to land Fruean pretty aggressively since he de-committed from UCLA. Rated as the 38th best linebacker in the country, Fruean has a really big frame that he uses to be a physical player on the football field (he’s listed at 6’4” and around 215 pounds now). The Huskies already have a linebacker commit in Ezaya Tokio but Fruean has the ability to come in early and contribute next year for the Huskies (he could also grow into an edge rusher at some point). It looks like the Huskies are battling BYU, and Arizona for his commitment and I wouldn’t be shocked if we saw a commitment come fairly soon after his visit to UW (based on getting the last visit I think UW leads).

Speaking of UCLA de-commits the Huskies hosted 3 star defensive back Toray Davis from Fairview HS, CO this weekend as well. Davis, who is rated as the 21st best athlete in the country, is a 6’1” 185 pounds defensive back who can play safety or corner. After losing CJ Lavender from the class the Huskies could replace him with Davis who has a little more speed and size than Lavender had. The Huskies are battling Texas and Wisconsin for Davis (with Texas getting the last visit). Next year the Huskies lose 4 defensive players due to graduation (Makell Esteen, Tacario Davis, Ephesians Prysock, and CJ Christian) so adding some potential early contributors has been a priority for the Husky coaches.

Another official visitor in the 2026 class that made his way to Montlake was 3 star tight end Kekua Aumua from Kahuku HS, HI. Aumua, who is currently committed to Florida, was a surprise addition to the visitor list. After Florida fired their head coach it’s not a surprise he is looking around, and the Huskies could be in a position to capitalize on that and add a second tight end to the 2026 class. Listed at 6’5” and around 255 pounds Aumua is a physical tight end who should be a plus run blocker in college. The Huskies pursued Aumua heavily in the spring before he committed to Florida and appear to be in a good position to flip him if he decides he wants to stay closer to home. 247sports has him rated as the 34th best tight end in the country.

It’s clear that the Huskies are looking to add a few more players to their 2026 class and if they can add the trio of visitors it will help round out an already impressive class.

From the 2027 class the Huskies had an impressive group of visitors in town. 4 star defensive lineman Kassie Currie from Sierra Canyon HS, CA was the headliner to check out Montlake this weekend from the 2027 class. Currie, who is currently rated as the 2nd best defensive lineman in the country by 247sports, is showing a lot of interest in UW and getting him on campus for an unofficial visit is huge for the Huskies (in their pursuit of him). There were several 4 star cornerbacks also in town this weekend: Evan Mack from Creak Lutheran HS, CA Jailen Hill from St John Bosco HS, CA, and Aaryn Washington from Mater Dei HS, CA. Mack, Hill, and Washington are being pursued by programs around the country and the Huskies would love to keep adding some talent to their defensive back room. From Texas the Huskies brought up 4 star wide receiver Tre Moore from Weiss HS, TX. The Huskies have tried to plant some roots in Texas and add a few players from the talent rich state every cycle. Moore is one of the top wide receivers in the country and he is a player that Huskies fans should keep an eye on over the next several year or so.

That is all for today, and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
