Happy Sunday Husky fans. The Huskies got to 5-1 after their impressive win versus Rutgers (it wasn’t pretty early but they dominated as the game went on). With the 2026 class pretty much baked heading into the early signing period I wanted to take a look at some 2027 prospects who could commit to UW at some point over the next several months:
4 star quarterback Sione Kaho from Lincoln HS is the top quarterback in the Northwest in the 2027 class, and appears to be heavily favoring the Huskies. 247Sports has Kaho rated as the 16th best quarterback in the 2027 class. With offers from BYU, Cal, Oregon, Stanford, and UW- Kaho already holds an impressive offer list. It sounds like Kaho could decide fairly soon after he wraps up his senior season, and if that’s the case the Huskies look in prime position to wrap him up. Through 6 games this year Kaho has completed 82 of his 147 passes that he attempted with 10 touchdowns (versus 5 int’s).
At wide receiver the Huskies are after a bunch of wide receivers, but right now it sounds like they are doing very well for a local player and an Arizona target. 4 star wide receiver Zerek Sidney from Desert Edge HS, AZ has been high on Husky boards for a while and the Huskies are doing very well for him. Rated as the 34th best wide receiver in the 2027 class, the Huskies are battling ASU, Oklahoma, and USC for the talented wide receiver. Locally the Huskies are after Braylon Pope from Sumner HS. Pope, who is a bigger wide receiver (he’s listed at 6’3” and around 195 pounds), is rated as the 42nd best wide receiver in the 2027 class by 247sports. It sounds like the Huskies are doing very well for Pope, who holds offers from Miami, Oregon, USC, and UW. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see UW take 2-3 wideouts in the 2027 class.
At tight end the Huskies have extended 10 offers with one of the offers being a local offer to Zach Albright from Glacier Peak HS, WA. Rated as a 3 star prospect and the 25th best prospect in the country, Albright has a good frame and appears like he could develop into a dependable tight end. The Huskies are doing well for Albright, but he holds offers from Michigan, Minnesota, Texas A&M, Wisconsin, and UW. It appears that UW will be in the market for at least 1 tight end and Albright looks like a solid prospect who I suspect will end up at UW.
3 star interior offensive lineman Reis Russell from Valor Christian HS, CO has been a frequent visitor to Montlake already this season. Russell, who is one of the top interior offensive lineman on the Huskies board in the 2027 class, holds offers from LSU, Miami, North Carolina, Nebraska, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and UW. The Huskies appear to be the leader now for Russell who could commit this winter. 247Sports has rated Russell as the 42nd best interior offensive lineman in the country. The Huskies are also doing very well with 3 star offensive lineman Gecova Doyal from Puyallup HS, WA. Doyal, who is the top rated offensive lineman in-state in the 2027 class already holds offers from Miami, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and UW. The Huskies really need to continue to recruit well in the trenches and keeping the top local offensive lineman home is a recipe for success long-term for the program. The Huskies are also doing very well with 4 star offensive lineman Jake Hildebrand from Basha, HS, AZ and 3 star offensive lineman Benjamin Lowther from Centennial HS, AZ. It’s been no secret that the Huskies have hit Arizona hard, and in the 2027 class there are 3 offensive lineman who hold Husky offers from the state of Arizona.
There is still a long ways to go in the 2027 class, but the Huskies have put themselves in a good place with a lot of top prospects already and over the next couple of months we will start to see the class come into focus. Next weekend I will take a look at the defensive side of the ball. That is all for today, and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
