Happy Sunday Husky fans. With the transfer portal in full swing I wanted to take a look at some of the targets and visitors that the Huskies are after. It sounds like the Huskies will be looking to add somewhere around 10 portal players now that the majority of the portal entries for the Huskies have announced they will be leaving. Here are a couple of visitors that the Huskies are bringing in:
Sam Houston offensive tackle Kolt Dietrich was the first official visitor to Montlake for the transfer portal. Dietrich, who is listed at 6’6” and around 310 pounds, started the last 2 seasons for Sam Houston and is rated as the 6th best offensive tackle in the country by 247sports. After losing a handful of offensive lineman to the portal and the graduation of Carver Willis the Huskies are likely looking for a capable starter to either battle for a starting spot or a backup role (most expect 5 star offensive tackle Kodi Greene to challenge for a starting spot on day 1). Dietrich would be a big pickup for the Huskies from a talent and depth perspective on the offensive line (Soane Faasola is the only other tackle outside of Drew Azzopardi who has playing experience and he has struggled to pass protect against some of the top edges in the country).
Florida wide receiver transfer Naeshaun Montgomery is expected to visit UW tomorrow. Montgomery, who was rated as a 3 star wide receiver by 247sports in the 2025 class, was a wide receiver target for the Huskies last year. Listed at 6’1” and around 190 pounds Montgomery appeared in 4 games and hauled in 3 receptions for 26 yards. Montgomery should be a viable candidate to replace the production of Raiden Vines-Bright, who entered the portal. If the Huskies can land Montgomery they would have another bigger framed wide receiver with 4 years of eligibility left (it sounds like he is also thinking about visiting Pitt, Missouri, and UCLA). Next year the Huskies will have a lot of younger players on their roster at wideout with only 2 upperclassmen on the roster (Kevin Greene and Rashid Williams who missed almost the entire 2025 season).
It sounds like there will be more visitors heading to Montlake starting tomorrow and as those players’ names pop up we will make sure to share those here. That is all for today and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
