It’s portal season (sorry, szn) and offers are going out and commitments coming in. To the Dots!
Dots
- In their quest to improve the talent on the defensive interior and edge, Washington is pursuing Miami DT Donta Simpson. He was the #606 rated recruit in the country in the 2025 class, so he has lots of eligibility left.
- A new name to keep an eye on in the DL portal quest:
- Most fans would agree that punting needed an upgrade this offseason. The coaching staff took their first steps toward making that a reality by accepting the commitment of SDSU punter Hunter Green. He has a huge leg and should be expected to start:
- While these things change seemingly by the hour, Christian Caple recaps the names he’s hearing that UW is pursuing in his Montlake Musings.
- And of course you’ve probably already seen the news, but Huskies took a commitment from the highest rated tackle in CUSA, Kolt Dietrich. Between he and incoming freshman Kodi Greene, expect one of them to start.
- Another player scheduled to visit. Jedd Fisch tried to get him to flip from Florida during the recruiting process when he was in high school, and it looks like that relationship is still alive to some degree:
- A single dot on basketball. Hannes Steinbach is Evan Miyakawa’s 10th best freshman in the country. Hopefully Danny Sprinkle can find a way to turn things around, because right now it looks his (likely) single year at Washington before jumping to the NBA isn’t going to end with an NCAA tournament bid or anything close to it.
