Washington Head Coach Kalen DeBoer Canceled Radio Appearance Friday Morning

June 26, 2024 by The Spun

NEW ORLEANS, LA – JANUARY 01: ESPN sideline reporter Molly McGrath interviews Washington Huskies head coach Kalen DeBoer following the Semifinal All State Sugar Bowl football game between the Texas Longhorns and Washington Huskies at the Caesars Superdome on January 1, 2024 in New Orleans Louisiana. Washington head coach Kalen DeBoer might have given the Huskies the old “milk and cigarettes” treatment amid reported interest from the Alabama Crimson Tide.

This morning, 93.3 KJR in Seattle announced that DeBoer would not be joining them on a previously scheduled radio spot. The station tried to assure fans that DeBoer is still working “towards a future we can all be excited about.”

“#Husky fans, we know you were looking forward to a visit with Coach DeBoer this morning. Please understand that Coach DeBoer & UW Athletics are continuing to work towards a future we can all be excited about. At this time, Coach will not be joining us this morning, but we will reschedule our interview soon. #PurpleReign“

College football fans weren’t buying it though. Just about everyone agreed that DeBoer has probably left in order to fly down to Tuscaloosa and become the next head coach at Alabama.

“In other words, he’s gone,” one user replied.

“Basically this is dad not coming home from the store,” another wrote.

“Someone should check FlightAware to see if any flights left Boeing Field bound for Tuscaloosa this morning,” wrote a third.

Has Kalen DeBoer already left the state of Washington?
