Can I sail through the changin’ ocean tides?
Can I handle the Dots of my life?
- Christian Caple has a summary of Jedd Fisch’s comments to the media this week. Even though the Huskies have a bye this week, the Apple Cup and a trip to Pullman looms large. Fisch pointed out that the Dawgs and Cougs have split the last four meetings, so the Huskies cannot go into the game thinking of themselves as clear favorites. Indeed, after winning 10 of 11 Apple Cups, the Huskies needed a miracle Rome Odunze end-around to avoid a losing record over the last half-decade.
- It’s never too early to start looking ahead to 2027 recruiting. In fact, the bye week might just be the perfect time to do so. Dawgman updates the recruitment for Tevita Nonu, a 4* DL from O’Dea who will be among the top players in Washington state. Nonu will be in Pullman for the Apple Cup and also scheduled an official visit to UW for the Ohio State game. He was also on campus for the win over CSU to open the season.
- Also at Dawgman, Scott Eklund gave a summary of what happened around the rest of the Big 10. It’s always useful to know how Washington’s rivals are performing. In the Big 10, the conference foes tend to also be some of the top teams in the country, so the entertainment value can overtake the advanced scouting.
- Husky Volleyball opens its season at home this weekend. The Dawgs will play Arizona on Friday at Alaska Airlines Arena, followed by San Diego on Sunday.
