National Game of the Week: #5 Ole Miss @ #9 Georgia
Mississippi has undoubtedly risen to a higher tier under Lane Kiffin. On Saturday, they have a chance to establish themselves firmly in the very top tier. Georgia has been slightly less invincible this season than in the recent past, but winning a game in Athens is always a tall order. The Rebels have not always looked pristine on the way to their undefeated record. They narrowly escaped against LSU (fair enough) and WSU (yeesh) the last two times out. Still, Trinidad Chambliss has been impressive at QB and they have athletic playmakers on both sides of the ball.
Also of note
- #11 Tennessee @ #6 Alabama – The Crimson Tide have beaten ranked teams each of the last three games. They will need to do it again with a very good Volunteers team coming in to Tuscaloosa.
- #20 USC @ #13 Notre Dame – Lincoln Riley keeps losing these big road tests. The Trojans have obliterated lesser competition this year, but lost against the best team they have played, Illinois. Notre Dame is more balanced than in recent years, but already has two losses and desperation may be setting in.
- #23 Utah @ #15 BYU – Crack open an icy cold milk for a Holy War with both teams ranked. Utah has had more impressive results and played a tougher schedule, but BYU remains undefeated.
