The two schedules were released Monday when the WCC released their schedules

Washington State announced that schedules for both soccer and volleyball have been released on Monday. Both sports will play as members of the WCC this upcoming season and will look to build on prior success.

Volleyball – The Cougs had a bit of a down year this past season after making it to the Sweet 16 in 2023. After finishing 16-12 and receiving a first round exit from the NVIC tournament this past season, they will look to return to their prior ways and get things rolling once again.

While the out of conference schedule and times have yet to be released, we at least know their conference matchups and dates.

Conference play will begin on Thursday, September 25th at home against San Francisco and will continue on Sunday with a match against Santa Clara. They will then hit the road, and take on Seattle U on Thursday, October 2nd before returning back to Eastern Washington and taking on Gonzaga on Saturday in Spokane.

The rest of the schedule plays out like this:

  • Thursday, October 9th: @ LMU
  • Saturday, October 11th: @ Pepperdine
  • Thursday, October 16th: vs San Diego
  • Saturday, October 18th: vs LMU
  • Saturday, October 25th: @ San Diego
  • Thursday, October 30th: vs Pacific
  • Sunday, November 2nd: @ Oregon State
  • Saturday, November 8th: vs Pepperdine
  • Wednesday, November 12th: @ Gonzaga
  • Saturday, November 15th: vs Seattle U
  • Thursday, November 20th: vs Portland
  • Saturday, November 22nd: @ Saint Mary’s
  • Wednesday, November 26th: @ Santa Clara
  • Saturday, November 29th: @ San Francisco

Soccer – Cougar soccer has had a down few years after making it to the second round of the NCAA tournament in 2021. They finished 8-5-6 this past year but showed flashes of a great team. After losing to #2 Stanford 2-0, they held #7 Utah State scoreless in a 0-0 tie, lost to #13 Pepperdine 3-2, and tied #10 Santa Clara 1-1. They just struggled to get things going against other teams.

This next year will see a lot of those same matchups including hosting a few bigger programs.

The Cougs kick off the year hosting Utah State on August 14th before heading across the Idaho border to take on the Vandals. They they return home to host Georgia in the return trip for the Bulldogs, They will then hit the road and take a trip to California for a 3-game road trip. They take on California on September 4th, UC San Diego on September 11th, and UC Irvine before returning home to take on North Dakota State on September 18th.
