On Tuesday, your very own Washington State Cougars men’s basketball team announced their new schedule for the upcoming 2024/25 season, with a brand new conference.
The 2024-25 conference schedule is here! Nine home games including key matchups with postseason contenders USF, Saint Mary’s, and Gonzaga.

They also unveiled two additional matchups against Iowa and Boise State! WSU and Iowa haven’t faced off since late December back in 1963 (oh what a night!) where the Cougs unfortunately fell to the Hawkeyes 74-66.
And, as we know, Cougar athletics are no stranger to Boise State. The first meeting occurred in 1970, and the Cougs took the victory 69-64. Out of the most recent three matchups however, WSU is down 2-3. They look to settle the score this season!

The non-conference schedule has not been fully released, with a few things still to piece together most likely, however there are quite a few that have been confirmed already! This is how it looks so far, with potentially one or two being either added or replaced. Not too shabby! I am really excited for all of the rare matchups (like Northern Iowa, what, that’s so random) we have this year and that it will most certainly give our Cougs the opportunity to have a strong resume for March! I believe given the variety of playstyles and conferences we will face, the Cougs will be battle hardened and poised for a postseason, even with the staff/player turnover.
Iowa (Illinois?) Cougs, if you live near Moline, go watch these two play, it will be an entertaining one and Hawkeyes fans are so friendly.
