Washington State unveils new jerseys ahead of kickoff

Some new threads to start your gameday morning.

Good morning, and happy Cougar Football Saturday, Washington State fans. Before you could even reach for your first gameday beverage, the Cougs hit us with a big surprise. A brand new anthracite jersey to match this week’s uniform combo.

This marks the first time WSU has unveiled a brand new jersey since the update to the entire uniform set back in 2017.

When the Cougs first unveiled this combo on Wednesday, it was met with a lot of mixed feelings. The problem with the anthracite jersey is it lacks any crimson, making it hard to pair with a crimson helmet and pants.

Adding that crimson outline to the numbers now ties this set together beautifully.

We also see a return to having text on the front of the jerseys, which haven’t been seen since the 2011-16 jerseys.

All in all, a very clean look and a fun surprise to wake up to ahead of this big matchup with the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
