Alvarez Sande handled her last two sets, defeating her opponent 6-1. Abouelsaad also swept with a 6-0 and a 6-3, and Kanemaki had the reverse with a 6-3 and 6-0 victory.
On the doubles side, Alvarez Sande paired with Maxine Murphy (redshirt junior) proved to be a lethal combo, winning 6-2. Abouelsaad was joined by Martina Puvill (freshman), and they also won 6-2.
This not only marks the first postseason tournament victory for the program, but also brought them 20-8 on the season!
