The last time we played them, December 11th of 2020, it ended in our favor, final score 60-52. Our star Charlisse Leger-Walker put up 20 points that game. Ula Motuga had 16, and 7 rebounds.
How did the H*skies play, you ask?
Haley Van Dyke had 19 points and 11 rebounds. Since that game, she’s either put up around 20 a game, or not even broken into double digits. Free throws and three pointers are not her strong suit.
Khayla Rooks was their next leading scorer with 12 points. She hasn’t outperformed herself from this game either, and her points per game have been consistently around 9 or 10. If I had to guess, I’d say the promise of rivalry had everyone a bit more on their toes, and I anticipate a similar energy for Sunday.
Alexis Griggsby didn’t pose much of a threat against us, but she’s since figured it out again, and has done better in more recent games. She put up 17 points against Stanford, but 3 points against Arizona State.
Tameiya Sadler started against us, but has not been starting recently. She did get some minutes in against Colorado in their most recent game, where she dropped 17 points, compared to the 8 she had against us in December.
Overall, a game against UW is always charged- and you can watch this one on Sunday at 1 pm on on Pac-12 Washington!
