
Earlier: Geno Smith’s return to MetLife Stadium hit a snag midway through the second quarter.
Smith appeared to injure his right leg or ankle while getting rolled up on by New York Giants defender Isaiah Simmons, who chased the Seattle Seahawks quarterback toward the sideline on a scramble.
Smith limped off after the play, but remained in the game.

However, after Seattle punted, Smith went into the blue medical tent on the Seahawks’ sideline.
When the Seahawks got the ball back following a Giants field goal, backup Drew Lock had replaced him on the field.

This is Lock’s first action with the Seahawks in his second season with the organization. The former 2019 second-round pick was traded to Seattle in the Russell Wilson deal during the 2022 offseason.

We’ll see if he can get back out there at some point, or if this will be Lock’s show moving forward.
