Jalen Milroe: A Promising Future in Seattle

August 26, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

Jalen Milroe has a great work ethic by showing up at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center early in the morning. He wakes up at 4:30 am PST to study the playbook. Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak has mentioned that Milroe goes through plays of the team’s new base offense at that time. Milroe was never asked to do so.  He is putting in the extra time to prepare for his new role.  This has been impressive, especially because he is putting in the extra work to improve. His hard work ethic extends beyond just physical training by engaging with coaches and studying the playbooks. This has put a positive reflection on his commitment to becoming the future quarterback for the Seahawks.

Teammate Robbie Ouzts has remarked on Milroes’ “grind mentality”:

“Oh yeah. I love playing with Millie [Milroe]. We came in as the same recruiting class. Came in heads down, really with the grind mentality. Nobody has a better work ethic than that kid. He’ll always be there no matter what time of day I come in. He is upstairs talking to the coaches and doing something with the playbook. He is going to come in with a worker’s mindset, and he is a natural-born leader.”

This shows that he is deeply committed to studying the game and understanding the nuances of the Seahawks’ offensive system. His dedication is evident in his routine, and he has expressed a desire to pay respect to veterans in the locker room who earn their trust through hard work and dedication. If Milroe continues this great work ethic, he has potentially positioned himself as a strong candidate to become the Seahawks’ quarterback for the future.

Jalen Milroe: A Promising Future in Seattle

A Beautiful Thrower

While he is known for his rushing abilities. He has shown the capability to throw passes through accuracy and consistency in college when he played for the Alabama Crimson Tide. But he has been criticized for inconsistency in accuracy and timing during his time there. Another concern is his mechanics and decision-making, and it has been suggested that he holds onto the ball too long

But with the right development and personal growth as a player, he can have a lot of success in Seattle. Head coach Mike Macdonald believes that Milroe’s talent can be used on the field to make something out of nothing. Macdonald plans to incorporate him into the offense to challenge other opponents defensively.  With all the flaws that can be fixed through development with the right coaching, he can throw a beautiful moonball. That is exciting because Seahawks fans should remember a former Seattle player named Russell Wilson, who used to do that at Lumen Field.

Patience Makes Perfect

The Seahawks are treading carefully with Milroe’s integration into the quarterback lineups.  Reflecting a philosophy that prioritizes steady growth over quick results, this strategy emphasizes developing talent carefully without pushing Milroe too soon during such a pivotal stage. stage. The presence of veteran quarterbacks such as Sam Darnold and Drew Lock can help provide him with the ability to gain the opportunities to observe vital insights for NFL quarterbacks. Darnold has expressed positive words towards his teammate Milroe, calling him a great person and athlete. Milroe has the tools to be special, but there’s also the chance things don’t pan out. Seattle is counting on him to step up—and maybe even spark excitement in both the team and its future fanbase.
