Jamal Adams May Have Revealed Preferred Team For 2024 Season

After an unremarkable four-year run with the Seattle Seahawks, former All-Pro safety Jamal Adams is expected to be released in the weeks to come within this NFL offseason. While there should be a decent market for him, he appears to have his eyes set on one team in particular.

In a series of replies to comments on Instagram, Adams seemed to indicate that he wants to return to the New York Jets, his former team that traded him to the Seahawks in 2020.

“Run it back,” he replied on one Jets fan who said he misses him in New York.

“I didn’t wanna play for my head coach,” he replied to another fan who admonished him for leaving.

That last part in particular is interesting.

Adams publicly demanded to be traded and did just about everything short of breaking league rules to ensure that the Jets acquiesced to his demand. The Jets wound up getting a pretty good haul in exchange for him, acquiring a pair of first-round draft picks among other compensation from the trade.

Initially it looks like a great move for Adams, who broke the single-season sack record for an NFL safety in 2020 despite playing only 12 games.

But injuries soon began to mount much faster. After missing five games in 2021, he missed 16 games in 2022 and only played about half of the season in 2023.

Even if the Jets did have mutual interest in bringing Adams back into the fold, they would probably only do so by giving him backup money as the litany of injuries he’s picked up will make it way too hard to rely on him for an entire 17-game season.

Where will Jamal Adams play in 2024?
