Jason Peters could provide a helping hand to an ailing offensive line.
Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Peters will visit the Seattle Seahawks on Tuesday. Left tackle Charles Cross is week-to-week with a turf toe, and right tackle Abe Lucas also exited Sunday’s game with a knee issue.
However, Peters likely won’t offer an immediate replacement. Rapoport added that the 41-year-old would first join the practice squad as he did with the Dallas Cowboys last year.
The plan if all goes well is for Jason Peters to start on the practice squad, then move up. Similar to how it was with the #Cowboys last year. https://t.co/ZsIxrQXtL6

Peters signed with Dallas right before beginning the 2022 season and joined the team in Week 3. He played limited reps, but the All-Pro’s role expanded later in the year.
The nine-time Pro Bowler would be the NFL’s oldest player if he suits up for his 19th season. But Peters could still make a welcome addition to a banged-up offensive line that allowed six quarterback hits in Sunday’s 30-13 loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
Per Gregg Bell of the Tacoma News Tribune, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said he’s “concerned” about Cross and Lucas when confirming that they’ve spoken to Peters. He added that it will “take a while until we know” about Cross’ status.
Even if signing Peters, Seattle’s offensive line could be short-handed for Week 2’s game against the Detroit Lions.
