Every first-round pick from the 2023 NFL Draft is officially under contract.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Seahawks agreed to a four-year, $31.86 million fully guaranteed deal with cornerback Devon Witherspoon. His rookie contract includes a $20.2 million signing bonus.
Witherspoon, the No. 5 overall pick from this year’s draft, missed the start of training camp for the Seahawks due to this holdout. However, head coach Pete Carroll wasn’t too worried about it.
“He’s not here today,” Carroll said, via ESPN. “He knows everything he needs to know. I can’t imagine he won’t be here very soon.”

Witherspoon will join a secondary in Seattle that features a handful of talented playmakers, such as Jamal Adams, Quandre Diggs and Tariq Woolen.
During his final season of college football, Witherspoon had 41 tackles, 14 pass breakups and three interceptions. The Seahawks would certainly welcome that type of production this fall.
