Let’s chat: What would you consider a successful season for the 2025 Seahawks?

Playoffs? Winning the NFC West? Making the Super Bowl? Not having the 33rd ranked offensive line in a 32-team league? It’s all on the table!

We’re less than 100 days from the start of the Seattle Seahawks’ 50th season. When we asked Field Gulls readers to call their shot on the win-loss record, we didn’t include any polling, but we had a lot of comments with predictions of another double-digit win season… except with a playoff berth.

SouthKoreaDave
13-4, losing to the Cardinals, the Texans, the Commanders, and the Falcons. Home record: 7-1, Away record 6-3.

KrunkSauce
11-6. Defense should be in top 5 range and anybody is an upgrade over Grubb. I think we can be last years Minnesota Vikings. If we figure out how to win at home again we should get to 12 wins.

Ahenobarbus
I think the ceiling is 14 wins with a floor of 9 (significant injuries excluded), so that averages out to 11.5 and I’ll round that up to 12-5. That should mean winning the division and hosting a playoff game, which we should win, but I’m not sure we have what it takes to hang with the Eagles or Commies just yet, nor am I confident we’d win a road playoff game so unless we’re the 2 seed (which 12-5 probably wouldn’t get us) I think that’s as far as we get this year. So mark me down as another one saying 12-5 and a playoff win.

Needaline
The offensive coaching staff should be better so I will give them 1 more win as the base case. Minimum 11 wins this season.

HawkHawk
10 wins (+/- 2), 3-3 (+/- 1) in the conference. 5-2 at the Bye with people claiming Super Bowl bound, followed by 5-5 to close out the season with wailing and gnashing, maybe a WC berth, likely early exit, but significant hope for 2026 because even in the losses, they will look like they belong on the field with the best teams by the end of the year.

uwhusky1991
Most optimistic I’ve been in several years, 11 wins.

negus123
13-4 and we win the Division.
Then we win our home playoff game (Darnold plays well and gets his first win), and then win on the road in the Divisional game (Darnold wins his second, proving that his first wasn’t a fluke).
NFC Title game could be where the ride ends in 2025 but….you never know. That’s why they play the games….

That’s a lot of optimism! There’s a new offensive coaching staff, many new faces on offense, a new starting quarterback who just came off a 14-3 season, and a defense that has the potential to finally be back among the best in the NFL next season. This isn’t to exclude the widely praised draft class, which should have immediate contributors like Grey Zabel, Nick Emmanwori, Elijah Arroyo, and Jalen Milroe.

Success is relative. The goal is to win the Super Bowl but not every team has a realistic shot. Seattle hasn’t as much as won a playoff game since 2019, when the ‘Hawks scraped past a Philadelphia Eagles team that was quarterbacked by Josh McCown for most of the afternoon. The Seahawks have also not won the NFC West since 2020, which was the pandemic year and thus fans couldn’t even enjoy the successes at Lumen Field.

Or perhaps you’re not as bothered about making the playoffs in 2025 as long as the draft class looks strong, the younger players continue to develop, and there are signs of a cohesive plan to be a real contender from 2026 onward.

What do you consider a successful Seahawks 2025 season? Are you all about finally winning a playoff game again? Getting back on top of the NFC West? Having an offensive line that doesn’t look like it’s never blocked anyone before? Super Bowl or bust? Sound off in the comments!
