There was a lot of rumoring and speculation over the weekend regarding potential trade offers for Seattle Seahawks wide receiver D.K. Metcalf. It took a few days, but the man himself has weighed in.
Taking to Twitter this morning, Metcalf addressed a recent report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport that teams have been “calling Seattle” about trading for him. He had just three words in response to the “report.”
“Haven’t heard anything,” Metcalf wrote, citing himself at the end.
Metcalf’s tweet has quickly gone viral with over 10,000 likes and 2,000 retweets in just under half an hour. Some fans have pointed out that Metcalf isn’t likely to find out until the deal actually happens though:

“They ain’t gonna tell you. You gone find out on twitter like the rest of us,” one fan wrote.
“Neither did Bobby Wagner Tubs start searching hotels in the KC area,” wrote another.
“As if these teams don’t trade and cut players without saying anything to them lol,” a third fan tweeted.
D.K. Metcalf had 75 receptions for 967 yards and a career-high 12 touchdowns in 2021. He made the Pro Bowl in 2020 and was a Second-Team All-Pro selection that year.
But the Seattle Seahawks are in the middle of what appears to be a rebuild given their recent trade of Russell Wilson. Maybe Metcalf will be a part of the rebuild. Maybe he won’t.
Metcalf doesn’t seem to know yet either.
