The Seattle Seahawks have made their first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Despite expectations that Seattle would trade down, the draft played itself out in a way that a series of top defensive players became available at No. 16. An unprecedented 14 consecutive offensive players were chosen, including the top six quarterbacks in the class.
With Laiatu Latu going to the Indianapolis Colts at No. 15, the Seahawks stayed put and chose Texas defensive tackle Byron Murphy II. Seattle has taken the consensus best interior defensive lineman in this year’s class. Murphy is the first pick of the Mike Macdonald era and it’s already a statement of intent that the Seahawks are going to keep rebuilding a defensive line that has struggled for any semblance of consistency for years.
We’ve got another SB Nation Reacts survey coming your way! How do you grade this pick? A, B, C, D, and F are the options. Your choice is based on your own grading rubric.
This is a quick turnaround survey so you should expect the results in a separate article on Friday. You don’t get to take a peek at how other people are voting!
