Seattle acquired the versatile defensive lineman back in 2023, but we finally know the full results of the trade.
Way back in October 2023, the Seattle Seahawks were hunting for defensive help, and they found it in the form of defensive lineman Leonard Williams via a trade with the New York Giants. Now, more than a year-and-a-half later, we finally have the full results of that deal.
Seattle Seahawks received
- Leonard Williams (the Giants picked up over $9.3 million of his remaining 2023 salary to boot)
New York Giants received
- 2024 Second-Round draft pick (No. 47) – Safety Tyler Nubin
- 2025 Fifth-Round draft pick (No. 154) – Guard Marcus Mbow
Of course we know that Seattle signed Leonard Williams to an extension in the 2024 offseason and he responded with possibly his best season, racking up 11.0 sacks, an NFL record (for a defensive lineman) 92-yard INT return for a TD and his second Pro Bowl nod.
Nubin started 13 games for the Giants in 2024 and it will be a few years before we know how Mbow performs in the NFL.
Still, it’s hard to see this trade as a loss for the Seahawks with Big Cat being one of the most important players on defense.
