There have been plenty of star wideouts traded this offseason, but DK Metcalf wasn’t one of them.
During an appearance on the “Club Shay Shay” podcast, Metcalf made it clear that he plans on staying with the Seattle Seahawks for the foreseeable future.
“I will say, we’re going to get something done,” Metcalf told Shannon Sharpe, via the the Club Shay Shay podcast. “I think I’m going to be in Seattle for the next couple of years.”
Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll recently complimented Metcalf, telling reporters the Ole Miss product has “shown a very good mentality” this offseason.
Though it sounds like the Seahawks will pay Metcalf at some point this offseason, their fan base won’t celebrate until an extension is officially announced.“
Pay this man, Seahawks. He’s the only WR who is playing his cards right,” one fan tweeted. “Don’t mess this up.”
“Better get something ASAP,” another fan wrote.
“I love DK,” a third fan said. “Hope he’s a lifer in Seattle.”
Metcalf, a former second-round pick, has 216 receptions for 3,170 yards and 29 touchdowns in three seasons with the Seahawks.
With the market for wide receivers at an all-time high, Metcalf should be able to break the bank this offseason.
