Officials Missed Blatant Pass Interference Call During 49ers-Seahawks Game

It might not have been the ultimate deciding play of the game, but the NFL referees appeared to miss a blatant pass interference call that might have otherwise led to a touchdown in last night’s 49ers-Seahawks game.

At one point during the game, Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba appeared to have separation to make a play on a pass in the endzone. But his arm was yanked and held by 49ers defensive back Ambry Thomas, and the pass bounced out of JSN’s hands for an incompletion.

But despite there being a referee right there, no flag was thrown and there was no call for so much as an illegal hold, let alone pass interference.

NFL fans on X couldn’t believe that the referee was right there, saw the play and refused to throw the flag for what should have been a no-brainer of a call:

WOW: The #NFL refs do not call a PI on the #49ers defender despite him YANKING #Seahawks WR JSN’s arm

“The ref was literally standing there watching it happen and didn’t throw anything,” one user wrote.

“That’s because the refs suck. I can’t tell you how pissed I was about that,” wrote another.

“Just like they didnt call a PI when Juice was ran over before the ball got there. For the most part, the refs kept their flags in their pockets tonight,” a third pointed out.

Was that a blatant miss?
