Earlier this offseason, the Seattle Seahawks shocked the NFL world by trading Russell Wilson to Denver.
In the months since there’s been speculation the NFC West franchise would look to make a splash once again in the trade market, or perhaps the NFL Draft, for a new franchise quarterback.
However, the Seahawks haven’t made much noise. Right now only Drew Lock and Geno Smith sit in the team’s quarterback room. Is Seattle content with its current quarterback situation?
Pete Carroll told reporters just moments ago that the Seahawks are “always looking” at adding another quarterback.
Pete Carroll on the NFL Network, asked about adding another QB, gives the standard response that “we’re always looking.” But asked if a QB would be added by end of the weekend says “nothing’s going to change that quick now. Happy with the guys we’ve got.”

With that being said, it doesn’t sound like the Seahawks are in a rush to make a significant move.
When asked if Seattle will add another quarterback by the end of the weekend, Carroll made it clear he has no such plans.
“Nothing’s going to change that quick now,” he said. “Happy with the guys we’ve got.”
If Carroll’s words prove true and the Seahawks don’t take a quarterback in the 2022 NFL Draft, they could look back at the trade market. Jimmy Garoppolo and Baker Mayfield are still available. The 49ers won’t trade Garoppolo to a division rival, so Mayfield is really the only option.
Should the Seahawks make a run after Mayfield later this offseason?
