With the injury to Seattle Seahawks running back Chris Carson, along with franchise QB Russell Wilson missing the last three games, Alex Collins has had a lot asked of him as of late, and has had to pick up a majority of the workload.
And it turns out he has been doing it all while battling through a groin injury.
Pete Carroll said Alex Collins basically just “made it through the game” vs Saints and Jaguars, “sucked it up” because of groin injury since 101-yard night at Pittsburgh. Bye week will be bueno for him. #Seahawks

Collins had 21 carries for 101 yards and a touchdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but has otherwise been on the injury report over the past two games.
With Rashaad Penny returning Sunday vs the Jaguars, it was expected that he would take back some of the workload from Collins. But Penny finished with just seven carries, while Collins collected ten carries despite the injury.
The bye week should certainly help Collins before heading to Green Bay to take on the Packers in Week 10. Depending on what happens with Carson, perhaps we might see Chris back in the starting role and Collins returning to being the main reserve.
