On Wednesday, Packers QB Aaron Rodgers tested positive for COVID-19 and it was discovered that he was unvaccinated, despite some sneaky choice of words to pull the wool over everyone’s eyes late in the summer when asked about his vaccination status.

Rodgers earliest allowed return date is Saturday, September 13th which would be one day before the Packers welcome in the Seahawks to Green Bay in what will likely be the return of Seattle’s franchise QB Russell Wilson. But that is only if Rodgers is asymptomatic throughout the next week and a half.

Rodgers has not been following the protocol of an unvaccinated player throughout the season, which is why the news of his vaccination status came as a surprise to most. He has not been wearing a mask around the facility and has been gathered in group settings, just to name a couple of the protocol mandates that unvaccinated players are expected to abide by. Because of this, many wondered whether a potential suspension could be coming for Rodgers and therefore wiping out his status to play vs Seattle one way or another.

But NFL reporter Jay Glazer shut down those rumors, explaining that the hardest the league would come down on Rodgers would be via fines.

Even if a suspension were handed down to Rodgers, he would almost certainly appeal it and play throughout the process of the appeal. Therefore he would be on the field in Week 10 one way or another.

“Aaron Rodgers will not be suspended.”

So we probably getting Russ and Rodgers in Green Bay in Week 10. Buckle up. https://t.co/862Yy9pxQB

Alas, come November 14th, we will likely feast our eyes on yet another showdown between two of the best quarterbacks that the NFL has to offer.
