While Jamal Adams has dominated the hold-out headlines, it has been quite obvious that the Seattle Seahawks left tackle Duane Brown is holding out for a contract extension as well, as he did not practice yet again on Friday. Now there is a report from an always reputable source, ESPN’s Adam Schefter, that Brown is not practicing without an extension and he is not pleased that he has not received one yet.

Turns out that Jamal Adams isn’t the only Seahawk seeking a long-term deal and not practicing without one. OT Duane Brown, in the last year of a contract scheduled to pay him $10 million this season, also is seeking an extension and isn’t pleased he hasn’t gotten one, per source.

For what it’s worth, Brown’s looming expiring contract has been a local storyline dating back to minicamp but is only now gaining traction nationally with reports of Brown’s displeasure.

Whether or not the Seahawks have offered him an extension is unclear. Jamal Adams is surely considered the greater priority at the moment and if it came down to extending one over the other, Adams could be the more likely recipient. Brown, who will be 36 years old in three weeks, has been the Seahawks’ most consistent offensive lineman all four years that he has been in Seattle.

Brown is in the final year of a 3-year extension that he signed after being traded from the Houston Texans that will pay him $11,350,000. He is set to make $2 million of his original signing bonus and the over $11 million in salary will only come if he plays this season.
