Team sources tell me #Raiders have extended an offer to Jadeveon Clowney. 2 or 3 other teams have better offers. Jon Gruden REALLY wants him but Davis/Mayock are standing pat (for now) Gruden would like to up the offer. Interesting for #Broncos if JC winds up in AFCW @1043TheFan

As Lammey notes, the Raiders’ interest in Clowney is driven by head coach Jon Gruden, while general manager Mike Mayock and owner Mark Davis are content to play the waiting game.
Also noted by Lammey is that multiple teams have better offers on the table for Clowney. In late May, it was reported by Adam Schefter that the Cleveland Browns had the highest offer to Clowney, but the pass rusher did not, and still has not, accepted the offer. Schefter didn’t put a dollar figure on that report, however.
With the regular season just over two months away from its currently scheduled kickoff, Clowney has plenty of time to remain on the open market and await an offer from a team that works for both sides. But for now, it appears he remains in no rush to sign.
