For the past few weeks, the Seattle Seahawks have been mentioned as a suitor for Baker Mayfield. On Tuesday, NFL insider Josina Anderson had an update on this potential pairing.
Per Anderson, the Seahawks are not “overly eager” to trade for Mayfield at his current price. As of now, Mayfield’s base salary for the 2022 million is over $18 million.
“Spoke to a league source on Baker Mayfield. At this time, the Seahawks still don’t sound overly eager on dealing for the Browns quarterback &* his salary at that price in a situation where they feel Cleveland has to eventually move him,” Anderson tweeted. “Still worth monitoring.”
Perhaps the Seahawks will change their stance on this matter following the NFL Draft.

Mayfield, meanwhile, mentioned Seattle as a potential landing spot while on the ‘Ya Neva Know’ podcast.
“If this would have been about a week and a half ago I would have said Indianapolis,” Mayfield said. “Seattle would probably be the most likely option, but even then… I’m ready for the next chapter, the next opportunity.”
At this moment, the Seahawks’ quarterback room features Drew Lock, Geno Smith and Jacob Eason. We’d have to imagine that Mayfield would present an upgrade at the position.
