You might have heard that Luke Willson is expected to return to the Seattle Seahawks as emergency tight end depth. Well the thing with that is the Seahawks made their roster cutdown to 80 players on Monday, so that means his arrival would necessitate someone else to be cut.
Looks like we have our answer.
Ian Rapoport says cornerback Pierre Desir is the odd man out.
The #Seahawks are releasing veteran CB Pierre Desir, source said. This makes room for Luke Willson. Desir is likely to catch on quickly.

Desir was previously with the Seahawks back in 2016 as a practice squad signing before getting waived before the start of the 2017 regular season. He spent three seasons with the Indianapolis Colts before going to the New York Jets. Desir was waived in November and ended the season with the Baltimore Ravens.
He was brought back to Seattle to compete for a roster spot at outside corner, where the Seahawks’ depth is… not what it once was, to say the least. Desir’s release should be good news for Gavin Heslop and his chances of making the team.
