Russell Wilson Reacts To Seahawks’ Latest Roster Move

Quarterback Russell Wilson #3 of the Seattle Seahawks leads his team onto the field

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson is fired up about the team’s latest roster move.

The Seahawks are bringing back veteran tight end Luke Willson. He visited with the team on Tuesday and struck a deal with the organization. Willson spent his first five years in the NFL in Seattle and has spent a total of seven years with the Seahawks. It’s safe to say Wilson and Willson know each other well.

The Seahawks star quarterback is amped up that Willson is returning to Seattle. He said as much in a recent tweet.

“LUUUUKKKKKKEEEEE!!!!,” Wilson said on Twitter.

Take a look.

Here’s what the Seahawks had to say about their latest roster move:

“Luke Willson is back with the Seahawks. Again. Willson, who spent his first five seasons with the Seahawks after joining the team as a fifth-round pick in 2013, left as a free agent in 2018, but has since re-signed with Seattle on multiple occasions, including on Tuesday,” the team announced via Seahawks.com.

The Seahawks needed some help at the tight end position. Colby Parkinson and Tyler Mabry are out with foot injuries, leaving just Will Dissly, Gerald Everett and Cam Sutton in the tight-end room. Willson is the most experienced of the bunch.

The veteran tight end has consistently drawn praise from his coaches and teammates. Pete Carroll said last season that Willson is “an instrumental part of the spirit of this club.”

With Willson back in the mix, Wilson – the quarterback – will have a familiar friend to throw to in practices and potentially games this upcoming season.
