Here’s where to follow along for all the updates on the first round of the draft as the Seahawks wait to come on the clock!
Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time! You’ve sifted through countless mock drafts, watched hundreds of highlight videos and parsed the measurables of hundreds of draft-eligible prospects, and tonight’s the night it all goes out the window because John Schneider is going to draft someone that leaves you scratching your head.
Fans and observers are curious to see how Schneider handles his first draft as general manager of the Seattle Seahawks without Pete Carroll around, while questions abound regarding how things might change following the overhaul of the coaching staff. What kind of offensive linemen is new o-line coach Scott Huff looking for? Will the Hawks draft a quarterback of the future for Geno Smith to mentor? Will the Seahawks somehow dig up a pair of second round picks so they can add a running back and outside linebacker in the second round for the third year in a row?
As of right now DraftKings sportsbook has the over/unders for Quinyon Mitchell (15.5), Terrion Arnold (15.5), Troy Fautanu (15.5) and Laiatu Latu (16.5) enveloping the pick the Seahawks hold at 16, with Jared Verse (17.5) right there as well.
Round 1 airs live on ESPN, ABC and the NFL Network at 8 PM Eastern/5 PM Pacific, with the Seahawks expected to come on the clock between 10:30 PM and 10:40 PM Eastern/7:30 PM and 7:40 PM Pacific, according to MSN.com. Of course, that could be off by a few minutes, so might as well just tune in to Field Gulls to stay on top of everything that transpires on Day 1.
