Eight-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Geno Atkins is currently unsigned, but the 33-year-old veteran is drawing interest from at least one team.
Atkins visited the Seattle Seahawks today as he tries to find a new home after 11 seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals. After missing only three games from 2014-19, a shoulder injury limited Atkins to eight appearances in 2020.
He’s healthy now though, and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport says the visit with the Seahawks went according to plan. There is reported ‘mutual interest” between the two sides.
Rapoport added that Atkins might have to wait until final cuts are made before signing somewhere. Teams are required to get down to 53-man rosters by 4 p.m. ET next Tuesday.
Following up: The visit, workout and medical went well. There is real mutual interest that should pick up around final cuts. That said, Atkins could still visit another team. https://t.co/ksyIClF6An

Atkins, a fourth-round pick out of Georgia in 2010, has tallied 384 tackles and 75.5 sacks in 161 career games. He was a first-team All-Pro selection in 2012 and 2015 and made six consecutive Pro Bowls from 2014-19.
As Rapoport stated, Atkins still could visit elsewhere and earn interest from other teams. At the very least, it seems he has impressed the Seahawks enough where he could start the 2021 season on their roster.
