In Week 8 the Seattle Seahawks defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 31-7 in a game which moved the Hawks to 3-5 and just a single game back of the final Wild Card spot thanks to a weak NFC field. With the team now enjoying its bye week, and looking to return from the bye with several players returning from injury, Seattle is hoping to be positioned well for a strong second half run.

However, as Pete Carroll and John Schneider have done since they arrived in 2010, they are always looking to make improvements to the team and always churning the bottom of the roster and the practice squad. To that end, the team on Thursday announced that it had created an open roster spot on the practice squad.

The @Seahawks released C Brad Lundblade from the practice squad this afternoon.

Brad Lundblade has been with the Seahawks on and off since originally signing with the team as an undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma State in 2018. His most recent tenure with the Hawks saw him signed to the practice squad last week as depth in advance of Ethan Pocic’s return from injury and apparent reclamation of the starting role from Kyle Fuller. With Dakoda Shepley also on the 53 man roster as depth, the team apparently felt Lundblade’s presence was no longer necessary.
