Seahawks practice squad rumor tracker

The Seattle Seahawks trimmed the roster down on Tuesday by waiving or releasing 29 players, and with the waiver claim deadline passing today the team can begin to assemble its practice squad.

NFL rules typically allow teams to form a 16 member practice squad, however, the Hawks are in a special situation due to Aaron Donkor and his inclusion in the International Pathway Program. As part of that program Seattle can keep Donkor on the practice squad in a spot that does not count towards the 16 available spaces.

So, seventeen is the expectation, and with the team carrying just four wide receivers on the initial 53 man roster, it also seems likely that there will be plenty of receivers added to the practice squad as well. Rumors and reports regarding the players who will be added should start to emerge Wednesday afternoon, so keep checking back with Field Gulls for all the latest updates on your favorite fringe players, and also updates on fringe guys from other teams you may never have heard of.

And a couple more skill position players in Aaron Fuller and Tyler Mabry.

Among the players the Seahawks are re-signing to their practice squad are WR Aaron Fuller and TE Tyler Mabry, per sources. Both were waived yesterday and went unclaimed. All 26 players Seattle waived cleared waivers, per the wire. Fuller and Mabry were on Seattle’s PS last year.
