The Seattle Seahawks take on their rivals the Los Angeles Rams in a few weeks and appear to be bringing on a former Rams quarterback to help in their preparations.
According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Seahawks are signing quarterback Brett Rypien to their practice squad. Per the report he will serve as the third-string quarterback behind Geno Smith and Drew Lock.
“Staying in the NFC West: Seahawks signed quarterback Brett Rypien to their practice squad Friday, giving the team a third quarterback behind Geno Smith and Drew Lock,” Schefter wrote.
The Seahawks have enjoyed plenty of stability with Smith under center and are currently 5-3 and tied with the San Francisco 49ers for the lead in the NFC West.

Brett Rypien is 0-1 as a starter for the Rams this season and has completed 47.4-percent of his passes for 172 yards and no touchdowns with one interception in two games for the Rams.
The Rams waived Rypien earlier this week after his abysmal performance against the Green Bay Packers in Week 9.
