The NFL trade deadline for 2021 has come and gone, and the Seattle Seahawks are unchanged.
Seattle did not trade for anyone and didn’t trade anyone away, which pretty much felt like the theme of this year’s deadline day for most teams. Truth be told, that’s how a lot of trade deadline days actually unfold, which makes speculation exciting but the reality brutally boring.
Defensive lineman L.J. Collier was the name who circulated the most as a possible trading block player for the Seahawks, but it looks like (shocker) there wasn’t a ton of interest in a player who has largely disappointed on the field and in 2021 has been almost completely unable to get on the field.
The #Seahawks spoke with teams about L.J. Collier. But they didn’t receive any offers that they considered worthwhile to trade him, so he’s expected to remain on the roster.
Former first-round pick has only dressed for two of eight games so far despite being healthy.

Seahawks DL L.J. Collier is not expected to be moved by the deadline, per sources. Seattle isn’t shopping the former first-round pick, still see value in the player despite a streak of game-day inactive

The Arizona Cardinals already made their big trade well before the deadline, getting TE Zach Ertz to add to that lethal offense that has propelled them to the NFC West lead. The Los Angeles Rams got pass rushing great Von Miller from the Denver Broncos on Monday, and the San Francisco 49ers acquired their own pass rushing threat in Charles Omenihu from the Houston Texans for a 2023 6th-rounder.
In other words, Seattle was the only NFC West team to do nothing as far as regular season trades. They did their trading in preseason by getting Sidney Jones and John Reid and sending Ahkello Witherspoon out of town.
