Some encouraging news has come from the Seattle Seahawks training camp, aside from the news that Jamal Adams has signed an extension with the team. Tight end Colby Parkinson, who missed most of last season due to a broken foot, was feared to be heading back to the IR again after re-injuring the same foot. However, Pete Carroll has been quoted as saying that he will not need surgery and he could be back in as soon as a couple of weeks.

Promising update on Seahawks TE Colby Parkinson (foot): He won’t need surgery and Pete Carroll says there’s hope he could be back in a couple weeks.

It was reported just four days ago that Parkinson was slated to miss an extended period of time due to the foot injury and he was seeking multiple opinions on whether or not he needed surgery.

The 6’7” second-year tight end only played in 6 games last year, catching 2 passes for 16 yards in garbage time against the New York Jets. Parkinson has also been reported to be having a great pre-season, and while he missed the Seahawks’ first preseason game the hope is he could be back for the final week of the preseason. At the very least, his availability for the regular season is looking more promising than it did last week.
