Saturday the Seattle Seahawks opened the preseason against the Las Vegas Raiders with a 20-7 loss in the first game in front of fans at Allegiant Stadium. Next on the list for the Seahawks, along with the rest of the NFL, is coming into compliance with the requirement to reduce the roster to 85 players in advance of the 4 PM New York time deadline.

The Hawks had apparently already made up their mind regarding the moves they would make, and they have already officially announced those moves, which included releasing six players while adding one. The six players released were:

  • Cornerback Jordan Miller,
  • Defensive Tackle Walter Palmore,
  • Wide receiver Anthony Ratliff-Williams,
  • Running back Cameron Scarlett,
  • Linebacker Nate Evans and
  • Offensive lineman Lukayus McNeil

Opening up six roster spots left Seattle with just 84 players on the roster, meaning they had one open spot which they have filled by signing defensive end Alex Tchangam. Tchangam went undrafted in 2020 after having only started playing football in junior college before transferring to Colorado prior to the 2018 season.
