Dareke Young will miss at least the first four games of the 2023 season.
The Seattle Seahawks placed the second-year wide receiver on the injured reserve Monday. They gave the vacated roster spot to guard Ben Brown, who signed to the practice squad last week.
Young missed most of training camp with an abductor injury that head coach Pete Carroll said could require surgery.

Seattle drafted Young with the No. 233 pick out of Lenoir-Rhyne last year. He didn’t touch the ball until catching his two targets for 24 yards in a Week 18 win over the Los Angeles Rams.
Young also secured an 11-yard reception in Seattle’s first-round playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
The Seahawks have already experienced multiple blows to their receiving depth this summer.
Dee Eskridge is suspended for the season’s first six games for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy. Cody Thompson made the team despite battling a groin injury in preseason, and rookie Jaxon Smith-Njigba is uncertain for Week 1 due to a wrist injury.
Carroll said the first-round pick is “doing remarkably well” after practicing for the second straight day last week. They’d be short-handed behind DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett if Smith-Njigba isn’t ready for Sunday’s game against the Rams.
