Seattle Seahawks 2022 Regular Season Games to Highlight

Seahawks 2022 Games

Ready or not, the 2022 NFL Season is set for the Seattle Seahawks under the direction of head coach Pete Carroll. The Seahawks are going into their 13th year with Carroll as head coach with more concerns than in the previous seasons. The Seahawks are going into their first season without their nine-time Pro-Bowl quarterback Russell Wilson. Seattle goes into the 2022 season with the 11th most difficult schedule based on their 2022 opponents’ record from this past season. There will be 17 games where the Seahawks have to prove themselves, but there are five games that will have huge implications for their 2022 season and how the NFL perceives them.

Seattle Seahawks 2022 Regular Season Games to Highlight

Week 1: 9/12 vs Denver Broncos – Russell Wilson’s First Game Back

The NFL never fails to create games that will result in high ratings. It should be ironic that the first game for the Seahawks without Russell Wilson will be against Wilson. In Week One’s Monday Night Football matchup, the Seahawks will host the Denver Broncos, led by new starting quarterback Russell Wilson. This will be the first time Wilson returns to Lumen Field as an opponent. It will also be the first regular-season game for Wilson as a member of the Broncos. Many non-fans of these two teams will certainly tune in for Wilson’s homecoming. After all, Wilson is one of the elite players in Seahawks history. There are expected to be no fill feelings between the Seahawks and Wilson. That isn’t stopping the storylines from being created. According to DraftKings, the Broncos are currently a four-point favorite over the Seahawks on their field.

Week 6: 10/16 vs Arizona Cardinals – First NFC West Home Game

After week one, the Seahawks will start NFC West Divisional play on the road versus the San Francisco 49ers. The Seahawks’ first home game against a fellow NFC West rival will not be until week six when they host the Arizona Cardinals. Arizona and Seattle have split the series in each of the last three seasons. There is a lot of uncertainty for both teams, but more from the Seahawks as Arizona has something that Seattle doesn’t have – an established quarterback. There is hope for Seattle, however, as the Cardinals will play their last game without star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who is suspended for six games this upcoming season for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs. If Seattle has a chance to have a positive season, this game will be it.

Week 10: 11/13 vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers – International Game in Germany

This 2022 NFL Season will be historically significant for the Seahawks. The Seahawks will face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 10 in Allianz Area in Munich, Germany. This will be the first-ever NFL game played in Germany. Despite both teams being on opposite sides of the country, there isn’t much difference in air miles between the two. The Buccaneers are set for 4,991 miles, while the Seahawks have to travel 273 miles more by air. This game against the Buccaneers will be the first time the Seahawks have played an international game in the regular season since Week Six of the 2018 NFL Season. Seattle defeated the Oakland Raiders with a 27-3 score in Webley Stadium in London. According to DraftKings, Tampa Bay is currently an 8.5-point favorite over Seattle.

Week 15: 12/15 vs San Francisco 49ers – Lone Thursday Night Football Game

Thursday Night Football games are always difficult for the teams playing because they usually do not have a bye-week in-between. The only Thursday Night Football game for Seattle scheduled is their Week 15 home matchup against the 49ers. The good news for Seattle is that they will be coming off a potential win four days earlier at home against the Carolina Panthers. San Francisco will be coming off a tough home game against Tampa Bay in that same time span. The bad news is the Seahawks will only have four days of film work and preparation. This game will be on Amazon Prime.

Week 16: 12/14 @ Kansas City Chiefs – Christmas Eve

One of the final games of the 2022 season for the Seahawks will be against one of the best teams in the league. The Seahawks are going into Week 16 expecting to be huge underdogs to the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday, December 24th (Christmas Eve). The last time the Seahawks and the Chiefs faced each other was in the 2018 NFL Season. The Seahawks took down the Chiefs on December 23rd at home 38-31 in Patrick Mahomes’ first-year full year as a starter. Wilson won the battle of the top-playmaking quarterbacks as both threw for three touchdowns and no interceptions. Mahomes threw for two more yards (273-to-271), but Seattle’s defense recovered two key fumbles.
