The Seahawks are the tortoise, but the hare keeps getting injured

There is a long, hard road ahead of the Seattle Seahawks. A brutal start to the 2021 season has dampened expectations like a week-long Washington downpour.

However, halfway through the regular season, the Seahawks struggles are subsiding, while the turmoil of their future opponents has only grown.

The next five teams that Seattle faces currently face massive obstacles in what could make for a fascinating November. Some problems have been slow-cooking, but two more updates as recent as Wednesday have made the next month very intriguing.

Green Bay Packers

Aaron Rodgers shocked the sports world by testing positive for Covid 19, preceding the uncovering that his claim to be “immunized” was a direct ploy to refrain from answering that he had never been vaccinated.

Rodgers is now out for at least Week 9, and will have a tiny 24-hour window to clear protocol in time to play Seattle. If indeed he is punished for breaking protocols season-long, Green Bay could suffer even more.

Arizona Cardinals

Kyler Murray and J.J. Watt are just two of the biggest names that Arizona has who are impacted by injury. Watt is now gone for the season, and the Packers immediately saw success running against the Cardinals. Murray is trending towards playing sooner than later, but with a left ankle sprain, it only helps Seattle if he is limited as a running quarterback, something they have traditionally struggled against.

Furthermore, the team was devastated by the ever-insane Thursday Night game last week. Arizona has 11 players updated on the injury report since November 1st, including A.J. Green and a couple others to the Reserve/Covid list.

Washington Football Team

Defensive End Montez Sweat has fractured his jaw and is not allowed to engage in contact for one month. Seattle plays the WFT on 11/29. Furthermore, starting center Chase Roullier has just been placed on the Injured Reserve with a fractured fibula and will get surgery. We’ve all seen the effect of losing a starting center, eh?

San Francisco 49ers

Since the last time they played each other, the 49ers have lost Javon Kinlaw and starting safety Jaquiski Tartt for the rest of the season. First round pick from last year, Kinlaw hasn’t been healthy enough to be the impact player projected, but had a QB hit in their first matchup of 2021.

Additionally, San Francisco has gone complete multiple personality on their quarterback decision each week, and Trey Lance does not look to be ready at all. The team has once again suffered a ton of running back injuries and do not have the quarterback play to make up for it.

Houston Texans

Are obviously terrible and have only beaten the other worst team in the league.

Chicago Bears

Once again the Seahawks look to be able to benefit on the 2021 rookie quarterback growing pains. Justin Fields has thrown three touchdowns to seven interceptions this year.

Detroit Lions

To round it out, everyone’s favorite rival Jared Goff is as bad as the worst rookie quarterbacks this year.

Seattle needs a lot to break their way to close this year out, and some of their biggest opponents seem willing to help them out.
